The Qingdao Bus Company purchased about 200 LNG natural gas buses with A.C. of which, 10 buses have already been put into use on Line 605 for trial runs. The new LNG bus can hold 150Kg of liquefied natural gas per tank. This is different from the old natural gas CNG natural gas bus where the tanks held gaseous natural gas. Qingdao’s new LNG buses can run 500km with a full tank of natural gas which is about 10-20% more efficient than the old CNG buses. Both the CNG and LNG natural gas buses run clean, without contributing to Qingdao’s Air Pollution index.
