Being the largest beach on Qingdao West Coast (Xihai’an – Huangdao District) and home of the Qingdao International Beer Festival, it offers travelers and beachcombers a golden sandy playground as far as the eye can see. It’s perfect for frisbee, soccer, football, or just relaxing under the sun’s rays; tents and tables are available for rent by the hour. Dozens of kiosks with food, drinks, beach gear, and souvenirs line the seashore. Rated as one of Qingdao’s best beaches.
Getting there:
Ferry: Qingdao – XueJiaDao, 10-12 RMB
Closest Bus Stop: <Jin Sha Tan> #1 (from XueJiaDao ferry terminal take bus # 2 and get off at Zerun Jinrong Guang Chang. Walk across the street and take bus #1 to JinShaTan).
Taxi: Approximately 8 rmb from XueJiaDao ferry terminal (xuē jiā dao lún dù: 薛家岛轮渡).
Sub-Oceanic Tunnel to Qingdao West Coast Xihai’an – XueJiaDao, 2 RMB
Take tunnel bus number 2 or 4 from the west side of TianTai Stadium on Wuchang Lu (near Zhongshan Park) headed west towards the Qingdao Train Station. After the going through the tunnel get off at the last stop and transfer to Xihai’an (Huangdao) bus number 4 which goes to JinShaTan (金沙滩) – Golden Sands Beach.
You can also take tunnel bus number 4 from ZhanQiao Pier to the XueJiaDao transfer station and then change to Xihai’an (Huangdao) bus number 4 which goes to JinShaTan (金沙滩) – Golden Sands Beach.
