As one of the most impressive roads in Qingdao’s Badaguan, Jaiyuguan Road is named after the Jiayuguan Pass located in Gansu Province which was built during the Ming Dynasty in 1372. Jiayuguan Pass was the key fortress in the west part of the Great Wall of China, and also an important stopover on the ancient “Silk Road”. Jiayuguan Road is lined with small leafed maples that turn a vibrant red during the autumn.
